LaVon, Joy, and our little one: Cyle

Joy and Cyle are doing well. we are keeping busy by traveling a lot and visiting those we love. our summer trips have been up to Logan, Utah to visit the Eggett family (joy's sister), over to San Antonio, Texas to support LaVon in graduating from Basic Training for the Air Force, over to Riverview, Florida to visit with LaVon's side of the family, up to Orderville, Utah area to help joy's mom and dad move up there, and also to Overton, Nevada for a baby blessing. It has been lovely to see and visit many loved ones. while we are at home we love playing in the pool and playing inside out of the extreme heat. Cyle is growing so much and is becoming quite independent. He has learned how to crawl and climb and is now able to entertain himself with toys. Joy is having to adjust to the feeling of freedom and not being needed every second of every day... it is quite the awkward feeling, I must say.

LaVon is now stationed at Keesler AFB for his technical training for his job. He will graduate on September 28th and is looking at being the top graduate of his class. This is a huge accomplishment for him and we are so proud of him and all of his hard work. he also holds the extra responsibilities of being an Airman Leader which takes extra self discipline and motivation. Overall his experience there in Keesler has caused much growth and learning and LaVon is thoroughly enjoying it!
we recently were told that our first place of assignment will be Scott AFB in Belleville, Illinois! we are excited and look forward to our adventure that will begin there.
Much love and best wishes to all of you!
LaVon, Joy, and Cyle

Grandma Says Hi

Grandma Leavitt is learning how to post on our fabulous family blog! Woo Hoo! This is a test for her to see how it is done. She wants all of you to know how much she loves you. She also checks this blog every single solitary day so you better start posting some things so she has something new to look at!

Also Lauren is in town. Ya Hoo! She looks SO grown up and beautiful and she says she sure misses you all and wishes she could move back to fabulous Las Vegas. Hint hint Bill and Kim. :)

Hear Ye, Hear Ye; New Family Rule

New Rule: When taking Grandma out, check to make sure she has cancelled the bus!!!

Yesterday she and I went to the temple, had lunch, and went shopping - had a great time! Upon arriving at her apartment, we were greeted by Ron and Dana (Theresa's husband) as they were repairing her door. I was then told that when the bus driver came to take her to lunch and she didn't answer the door, he called the police. The police "rammed" the door just like you would see them do at a drug house on Cops. Apparently most of the family, her neighborhood, and her entire ward were put on the look out for the "missing" Sister Leavitt. So, please learn from my HUGE mistake and embarrassment and make sure she has cancelled the bus before you take her out for some fun.

By the way, Grandma is speaking in her sacrament meeting this Sunday (1:00 at the Racetack Rd building) on how the temple blesses her family. (She has many, many stories of how the temple has blessed her family. I certainly hope she does share this one!)

Playing on the farm in Monticello, UT

The kids and I went to my family's annual reunion for the 24th of July. I thought you might like to see some of the fun pictures we took.

It's always fun for us to play in the wheat fields, and in the wheat trucks. And of course I have to get pictures!

Rebecca posing in the wheel of the combine

After the wheat truck was full, we all took a ride to the bins and had fun while it was being dumped. The higher the truck went, the harder it was to stay near the top!

They'll probably kill me for putting in this picture, but it's the only one I have of them.

River Rafting in Moab, UT

41 members of my family went rafting down the Colorado River in Moab, UT. We had so much fun! Even the little kids loved it! There was only one time where we hit a bigger rapid and because our raft was under inflated it kind of folded the front up. One of my cousin's kids went flying in the air (which he loved and reinacted many times), and Jaclyn and Nathan were knocked over to the other side of the raft. It scared them a little, but they were fine. Other than that it was smooth sailing.

All of my family who were there
Most of the river was pretty smooth and we would get out of the rafts and float down the river. Here is Jaclyn showing off.
I had to include this picture to show the beautiful scenery we enjoyed!
